Established by Thomas Boss in 1812, Boss & Co. developed an exceptional reputation for producing sporting guns of the highest quality. During the late Victorian and Edwardian periods the firm became particularly associated with innovative gunmaking, including the famous Boss single trigger and its highly regarded side-by-side and over-and-under sporting guns.

Cartridges carrying the names of the leading London gunmakers are particularly attractive survivors of the traditional British sporting trade. They recall an era when clients could obtain cartridges bearing the name of the same prestigious gunmaker that supplied their sporting guns.
