Eleys Kynoch C.B. Cartridge Case
Kynoch "C.B Cartridge Case"
An interesting Eley-Kynoch “C.B.” shotgun cartridge case, representing one of the lesser-seen named cartridges associated with the historic Kynoch ammunition works at Witton, Birmingham.
The C.B. / CB designation was among the sporting cartridge names used by Kynoch and has its origins in the company's extensive pre-First World War range. Following the consolidation of the British ammunition industry, a number of established Kynoch cartridge names continued under the Eley-Kynoch identity.
This example provides an attractive reminder of the enormous variety of proprietary and named shotgun cartridges once produced by Britain's major ammunition manufacturers during the golden age of the paper-cased sporting cartridge.
