P . D . Malloch "Standard" 12 Gauge Cartridge
A rare very early P. D. Malloch “The Standard” 12-bore sporting cartridge, supplied by the celebrated Scottish sporting firm of Perth.
Founded by Peter Duncan Malloch, the business became closely associated with Scottish field sports and was particularly renowned for fishing tackle, natural history and sporting equipment. Alongside these activities, Malloch also supplied guns and proprietary shotgun cartridges to its sporting clientele.
“The Standard” was one of several named cartridges associated with P. D. Malloch, alongside such evocative brands as “The Matchless,” “The Red Grouse” and “The Triumph.” Period Malloch ammunition was produced in association with major British cartridge manufacturers, including Eley-Kynoch.
