Vintage Shotgun Cartridges 1880 - 1978

Vintage shotgun cartridges from makers such as Eley, Nobel and Kynoch span a remarkable period of British sporting and industrial history, from the late Victorian era of the 1880s through to the late 1970s. During this period, cartridge manufacture underwent enormous change. Early cartridges evolved through advances in case construction, primers, powders, wadding and manufacturing techniques, while an extraordinary variety of brands, loadings, gauges and distinctive case designs appeared. For today’s collector, much of the fascination lies in this sheer variety.
